On Nov. 1, 2012, Zhuhai College Debate Invitational Tournament was held at BNUZ. This activity is also part of the sixth Zhuhai College Students Art Festival. Xianbing Chen, vice secretary of BNUZ Youth League committee, Mr. Wenguang Zhao, from propaganda department of Zhuhai Municipal Committee of the Communist Youth League participated in this activity. After two fierce debates, BNUZ and Sun Yat-sen University, Zhuhai Campus entered the finals.

As a theme activity of the sixth Zhuhai College Students Art Festival, this debate tournament has invited teams from 7 universities to participate in it. They are Sun Yat-sen University(Zhuhai Campus), Zhuhai Branch of Beijing Institute of Technology, Jiangmen Wuyi University, University of Electronic Science and Technology of China(Zhongshan Institute), Jinan University(Zhuhai Campus), Guangdong Science and Technology Vocational College, Jilin University(Zhuhai College). This tournament also invited Jianbiao Hu, the best debater in the 1999 and 2001 International Varsity Debate Competition, Weiwei Ma, the best debater in the 2002 and 2003 International Varsity Debate Competition, Jingjing Liu, the best debater of the 2007 International Debate Contest and a visiting scholar from Harvard Law School to be the judges.

The debate topics cover several areas such as “Should Zhuhai focus to develop into a more livable city or a high growth SAR” and “In today’s society, is it more important to not to do certain things or to do certain things”. After fierce competition, BNUZ and Sun Yat-sen University, Zhuhai Campus entered the finals, which would be held at the end of November. This debate tournament offers audiences great debate shows and a wide range of information.
